I was travelling in the bus on a bright sunny day things
going normal…. i was sitting on the “ladies reserved seat “like a privileged
person..Suddenly my eyes went on to a mother daughter duo who was sitting right
in front of me. The 8 or 9 years old daughter was eating a packet of peppy and
after finishing she threw off outside the window. A teenager standing alongside
just said to that mother “agar aap hi usko aise sikhaoge aur usse karne doge toh woh har baar yehi karegi”… the mother was embarrassed and
immediately she scolded her daughter to not do so… according to me “SHE WAS A
LEADER”.
Having the guts to stop her right in the front of a 50 odd
people when she knew that she won’t achieve anything out of it…is the
characteristic of a leader.
The passion of hard work, dedication spontaneity, to have a
vision to change, to take your own stand to accommodate people and go ahead are
all the things that a leader must posses. To me each and every person who has
tried to make a change from Shivaji Maharaj to Barack Obama or from Narayan Murthy
to Chanda Kocchar is a leader.
Many people debate that women can’t
be good leaders, they can’t hold top level positions but the truth is that the gender
or the age doesn’t matter it’s the attitude to perceive a change THAT
MATTERS!!!
